Introduction

Virginstowe Bridge, Virginstowe, Devon (OASIS ID: acarchae2-199200)

An historic building record of a former railway bridge was made prior to infilling of the track below the arch. The bridge carried a local road over the North Cornwall Railway. The line was opened in 1886 and closed in 1967. It was constructed of local stone. Other than modern re-pointing, no alterations have been made to the bridge.
