Fabric Visual Characteristics

Type A: Well fired, compact orange-red brown fabric, with common fine quartz grains. Type B: Well-fired, often reduced to pale grey-brown, with common fine-1mm lime. Some lime eruptions. Fine-0.5mm rounded quartz common (Beirut example, 006.8333).

Fabric Petrological Characteristics

Type B: Grains of quartz and small pieces of cryptocrystalline limestone are scattered throughout.
