The theme of this conference is Classical Archaeology towards the 3rd Millennium: reflections and perspectives. It will look at questions on where Classical archaeology is heading, and how far it can still be termed 'classical'. There will be sessions on fieldwork, conservation and restoration; architecture and urban space; material categories; social/economic/political issues; cult, religion and funerary archaeology; and iconography.

International Medieval Congress 1998

International Medieval Institute at the University of Leeds

The congress will feature 300 sessions on all aspects of the European Middle Ages (c.450-1500), with special strands on female spirituality, and on settlements, commemorating 50 years of research at Wharram Percy. There will also be events and excursions.
