Digital Object Identifiers

Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) are persistent identifiers which can be used to consistently and accurately reference digital objects and/or content. The DOIs provide a way for the ADS resources to be cited in a similar fashion to traditional scholarly materials. More information on DOIs at the ADS can be found on our help page.

Overview

The archive is a large collection of material derived from many differing sources, both Azeri and British, and is divided as shown below:

Archive structure
  1. Phase 2 Evaluation contains the results of the initial test pitting operation and the examination of aerial images by Rog Palmer.
  2. Phase 3 & 4 Mitigation contains all the IoAE site data in 41 site sections each typically containing:
    • An IoAE report, being the final version after comments by David Maynard.
    • Images in various directories, typically with 'IoAE images' from their report and 'BTC photos' containing other images of the site.
    • One or more AutoCAD site plans of the site compiled by David Maynard from IoAE data and the BTC archaeologist's measurements.
    • Other textual reports and spreadsheets covering site notes maintained by the BTC archaeologist and various calculation sheets prepared by David Maynard during the Phase 5 studies.
  3. Special Analyses contains sections detailing the various pieces of work and original reports for Human Bone Analysis, Radiocarbon, Obsidian Characterisation and Charcoal Identification.
  4. Off-Route Archaeology contains those activities that do not easily fit into the main archive structure. There are sections for Bus Stops, Aerial Archaeology and Off-Route Finds.
  5. Coordinate system

All data was collected on the Pulkovo 1942 system, using a Gauss Kruger Zone 8 Projection.
