Introduction

Land North of East End, Fairford, Gloucestershire. Archaeological Evaluation (OASIS ID: cotswold2-301725)

An archaeological evaluation was undertaken by Cotswold Archaeology between November and December 2017 on land north of East End, Fairford, Gloucestershire. Two trenches were excavated.

A series of predominantly undated ditches and a pit were revealed during the current works, with just one ditch containing a single sherd of Roman pottery being identified. In addition, a shallow gravel extraction pit, most probably post-medieval/modern in origin, was recorded. The latter corresponded with the southern edge of one of two visible hollow/earthworks within the north extent of the site.
