This 'infantry post' represents a Home Guard ambush position that is shown on a hand-drawn map produced by Sgt. Eddy of No.10 Platoon 8th Btn. Home Guard in 1944 [see photographs]. A spigot mortar, a bren gun, and other weapons were set to fire here. A few yards further up the road was a roadblock. [Information to the recorder from Mrs. Elaine Daw of Coverack, daughter of Sgt. Eddy].
