Rectangular pillbox; brick-shuttered, facing S over railway and overlooking bridge to W. Located on edge of transport service depot which may have had its origin as a WW2 depot.

Pillbox, which probably once guarded an ordnance depot at the site. Brick-built with concrete roof and precast concrete embrasures. 4 x embrasures. 10ft square, with offset entrance porch. [JL 05]. [with plan drawn on form].

Almost square pillbox structure, with entrance on diagonal with blast wall. Embrasures of unusual design (precast) on all four walls. Approx. 8ft high, sides 12ft. Pillbox wall utilised for 'For Sale' sign. [Recorder told site may have been munitions works or aircraft factory]. [AJR 8]. with PLAN drawn on form.
