Pillbox on the Fowey side of the Polruan Foot Ferry. [Recorder John Harding gives grid reference SX 12315148]
(Source: Field Visit 1997/09/15)
A round-shaped pillbox built to blend in with its local surroundings at the Polruan Ferry landing slip on Fowey River at Whitehouse. It looks like part of a garden wall, but has 4 embrasures with 4ft thick walls. Entry is from the rear through a second concrete bunker situated within the garden of a private house. It is still in very good condition and is used as a garden room. One of the embrasures has been enlarged with a view over the harbour. [AH383].
