A massive anti-tank ditch, some 20ft wide and 12ft deep, connected all the pillboxes in the Shenley area, and probably further. It was infilled by bulldozer after the war (or possibly as early as 1942), and the land returned to normal usage. A pillbox [UORN 13392] stood on the S side of the ditch. [Information from local resident, Mick Long].
