Type 24 pillbox built in defence of the adjacent Hayle estuary and entrance to Hayle harbour. Several pillboxes were constructed on the W banks of the estuary. It is in very good condition, but with rubbish inside. A right angled outer defence wall with 2 embrasures was built to protect the entrance. Average interior measurements are 10.5ft, walls 18ins thick, out blast wall 19ins thick, roof 13.5ins thick. Interior headroom 6.5ft. Adjacent to a public footpath and easily accessible.
