Anti-tank obstacles ('pimples' and 'cubes') on Summerleaze beach - about 60 are still in existence. The 'pimples' have been removed from their original positions and are now sited around the perimeter of Summerleaze Beach car park. The cubes are a few yards away on the bank of the River Neet. A few of the 'pimples' have inscriptions marked on the concrete: these include, 'God save the people. George VI'. 'England for ever'. 'Gott strafe Germany 1940'. 'Peace Lord'. 'All pals shall meet again'. 'Hands across the sea 22.10.40' (with a drawing of a hand).
