Defence grouping Steyning, Bramber, and Upper Beeding nodal point - Defences of Upper Beeding category 'A' nodal point. Cassini ref. Q6329. [Source: Nodal Points, Appendix D to West Sussex Sub-District Defence Scheme, 1943 - (NA:) PRO WO 166/11008]. Steyning to the west was also a designated nodal point. In 1941, these nodal points defending the Adur Gap were known as the Steyning, Bramber, and Upper Beeding nodal point. [Source: 9th Bn.
