Type 26 pillbox, approx. 10 ft square. The entrance, on the side away from the canal, is in the bank of the canal, has brick and concrete sides to retain the bank and steps down into the pillbox. Concrete approx. 18ins thick. Concrete roof approx. 6ins thick. The entrance is now completely blocked by earth and debris. The front half of the pillbox has been demolished, the part demolished presumably removed as it would have blocked the towpath. The remaining part is almost entirely covered by brambles and bushes. [Colin Alexander in 'Ironside's Line' gives NGR - ST 830597].
