Type FW3/24 thick walled pillbox. The rear wall containing the entrance is approx. 20ft long, the exact opposite wall approx. 9ft long, and the other walls are approx. 12ft and 10ft long. There is an exterior brick wall, with sloping concrete roof protecting the entrance. Inside, the 'ceiling' is lined with corrugated asbestos sheeting, which appears to have been in place before the concrete roof was made. The pillbox looks over the nearby railway and river to the open country beyond. Steps down to gain entry as pillbox is built on sloping ground. Probably brick shuttered (as opposed to solid brick), with concrete roof.
[Recorder gives NGR as ST 86416130].
