Type 28 pillbox for HMG or possibly 2 pdr. anti-tank gun. Covering small road bridge over disused railway line. Largely overgrown. This pillbox forms part of a very interesting complex of structures on the W edge of Herne Hill, with a road and rail block and anti-tank obstacles, as well as another 2 (possibly 3) bunkers. There are also indications of field works in the fields to the E of the old railway line.
