Base of gunsite for 6pdr. Hotchkiss gun on seaward side of Ness Drive.

One of two coast battery gun sites that were covered by a large wood and brick structure made to look like a boathouse. Each site had a 4.7in QF naval gun, made in Japan in 1917. The second site in front of Ness House [see UORN 6514] was destroyed in 1993 by South West Water.
