Type 24 pillbox.

Type 24 shell-proof pillbox.

Thick-walled type 24 pillbox made of concrete panels secured by rods (prefabricated), bolted together to provide shuttering. The quality of the poured concrete is poor. The pillbox is fitted with a brick and concrete 'porch', a feature of pillboxes in this area, probably fitted shortly after the main pillbox was constructed. Faces E. The recorder was told by the land occupier that the anti-tank ditch ran close to the pillbox.
