Type 24 shell-proof pillbox.
(Source: Book 1999)
Large type 24 pillbox of concrete panel shuttering [prefabricated]; very overgrown. Entrance, which faces and is flush with the adjacent lane, is blocked. Faces NE. No 'porch' owing to closeness to lane. Local information suggests that the pillbox was lived in at some stage of its post-war history.
(Source: Field Visit 2000/08/20)
Type 24 variant pillbox dug into the hedgerow at the very edge of the lane. Faced with prefabricated concrete panelling, bolted in position. No interior access, but a view through an embrasure shows the interior to be in excellent condition. The entrance on the W side is now blocked by the hedge bank. Faces E down the lane towards the line of the anti-tank ditch [see UORN 14402].
