Site only just visible from canal towpath on opposite bank [the site is on the N bank of canal), and is easily missed as it is camouflaged as a shed [unconfirmed]. [Colin Alexander's gazetteer lists it as a 'rectangular type'].

Non-standard rectangular pillbox situated W of bridge and between canal and River Kennet. Wood-shuttered. Pillbox blocked up and used as a bat sanctuary. It was originally disguised as a shed [camouflage], but 99% of the wood has now been removed. 3 x embrasures. [with plan drawn on form].

WOOD CLAD RECTANGULAR PILLBOX ON LAND BETWEEN RIVER AND CANAL. SMALL ARMS EMBRASURES. WOODEN CLADDING IS LARGELY INTACT, APPEARS TO BE DISGUISED AS A SHED. [SMR gives NGR - SU 617686].
