A desk-based assessment of a proposal to develop as a business park a site to the southeast of Oswestry, Shropshire found that the proposed development site was formerly occupied by a Second World War Prisoner of War camp. Field evaluation was recommended in order to determine the extent and survival of any such remains. There was a low to moderate potential for features or deposits of the prehistoric to Roman periods to be present within the proposed development site.

A desk-based assessment for a proposal to erect two agricultural buildings on land at Upper House Farm, Upton Cressett, Shropshire. The proposed development site comprised agricultural land on the western side of the existing farm complex. The site lies 200m to the northeast of the site of the deserted medieval settlement of Upton Cressett, which includes two Scheduled Ancient Monuments and three Grade I Listed Buildings. The assessment found that the proposed development was not expected to have any direct physical impact on any archaeological feature or heritage asset, but might have a minor indirect impact on the setting of some of the neighbouring designated heritage assets. This impact could be reduced by mitigation measures.

Between July and September 2018 the Archaeology Service, Shropshire Council, made a Level 1 Photographic Survey of graveyards at the former Congregational Church on Swan Hill, Shrewsbury, prior to the chapel's conversion to residential use. In January and February 2019 a watching brief was carried out on the removal of grave slabs at the rear and front of the chapel. No significant archaeological features or human remains were encountered.

In September 2017 alterations were made to a weir at Oaker on the River Clun at Aston on Clun to create a riffle/cascade to distribute the head-drop of the weir over a greater length of channel. The weir was seen to be constructed of limestone blocks set in a hard lime mortar. No earlier structures or features were seen during the works. No other significant archaeological features or deposits were recorded during the watching brief.

In 2012 it was proposed to relocate a repaired spiral classifier and jigger to the Black Tom area of Snailbeach Lead Mine, Shropshire and erect a shelter to protect the restored machinery. Because of the archaeological significance of the site English Heritage required that this work be accompanied by a Programme of Archaeological Work, comprising desk-based research, field evaluation, and the archaeological monitoring of site groundworks. The Archaeology Service, Shropshire Council was commissioned to undertake the programme of archaeological. The documentary research was able to pinpoint the location of the spiral classifier and jigger prior to its removal and restoration in 1993. The trial excavation found that significant archaeological features and deposits relating to early 20th-century spar processing survived at a depth of c.0.25m below the ground surface. However, there was no evidence for a former shelter over the spar processing plant. The groundworks for the new shelter were carried out in summer 2013. The watching brief recorded the edge of a concrete surface, possibly a former working surface.

In April 2018 the Archaeology Service carried out a watching brief on groundworks for extensions to the rear and side of 12 Church Close, Cruckton, Shropshire. No significant archaeological features or deposits were encountered.

In June 2010 the Archaeology Service carried out a watching brief on excavations for an extension to 187 Abbey Foregate, Shrewsbury. The study area lay within the likely area of the former monastic cemetery of Shrewsbury Abbey and there was a possibility that archaeological remains, including human remains, might be encountered during the groundworks for the development. No significant archaeological features or deposits were seen during the course of the watching brief.

In October 2016 the Archaeology Service carried out a watching brief on groundworks associated with a development at 27 Sheinton Street, Much Wenlock, Shropshire TF13 6HY. No significant archaeological features were observed.
