"Birmingham Archaeology is one of the leading independent archaeological contractors in the country, providing a professional, efficient and financially competitive service to our clients. Founded in 1976, we have 30 years' experience of facilitating client dealing with archaeology within the planning process, and of undertaking the necessary work to ensure that the archaeological aspects of development projects are completed successfully and cost-effectively.

Birmingham Archaeology provides a range of services including consultancy, desk-based assessments and field-based evaluations in advance of planning consent, and excavation or watching briefs required as planning conditions. Our core archaeological and support staff encompass a broad range of skills, including project management, documentary research, survey, the recording and analysis of standing buildings, analysis of finds and environmental data, illustration and GIS. This range of expertise ensures that projects, both small and large, can be carried out quickly and efficiently. In addition, Birmingham Archaeology benefits from being able to draw upon the academic expertise and technical facilities of one of Britain's foremost universities.

Birmingham Archaeology strives to combine commercial efficiency with academic excellence. We have a strong training and research ethic, coordinating three Masters programmes within the Institute of Antiquity and Archaeology, University of Birmingham and running short courses in conjunction with the IFA, English Heritage and the Archaeology Training forum."
