Foundations Archaeology, a registered organisation of the Institute of Field Archaeologists, was founded in April 1995 when it was recognised that a niche existed for a company to undertake consultancy work on planning projects affected by archaeological constraints & could supply that service to a consistent high level of quality with an emphasis on expertise combined with a rapid response to their Client's varied needs. A successful two years saw the incorporation of the business as a Limited Company in October 1997 as Archaeological Management Services Ltd although the company continued to trade as Foundations Archaeology. During the same period, in response to Client demand, Foundations Archaeology began to move out of the realm of pure consultancy & began to undertake field projects (evaluation & excavation), which now provides approximately 75% of the company's turnover, although consultancy remains A successful two years saw the incorporation of the business as a Limited Company in October 1997 as Archaeological Management Services Ltd although the company continued to trade as Foundations Archaeology.
