Abstract: |
This archaeological and cultural heritage desk based assessment has identified one recorded cultural heritage site within the development boundary, which has been interpreted as a dispersal area of the airfield dating to the 1940s. There is potential for archaeological remains, deposits or finds, particularly dating to the early prehistoric periods and remains of agricultural activity from the early medieval period onwards. A programme of evaluation has been recommended to assess the survival of the airfield remains, the extent of truncation of the airfield construction and any previously unrecorded archaeology. |
