Abstract:
A desk-based study of the archaeological implications of proposed widening of 34km of the M1 from Junction 24 (Kegworth Interchange) to Junction 28 (Pinxton Interchange) was undertaken. Sites ranging from prehistoric through to post-medieval date were identified along the route. Although forty-six sites of archaeological interest were identified, none were scheduled and one was included on English Heritage's Register of Parks and Gardens of Special Historic Interest. [AIP]
