Abstract:
Rapid desk based assessment and walkover over pipeline route to establish if there needs to be a programme of archaeological works during groundworks associated with the excavations of a new sewer pipeline trench between Little Bampton Sewage Works and the north side of Aikton. The research and walkover has indicated that there is the possibility that archaeological remains may survive in the fields to the south of Little Bampton, as suggested from information derived from aerial photographs, modern satellite photography and the HER. A watching brief has been recommended for that section of the pipeline route.
