Abstract: |
An archaeological excavation was carried out by GUARD Archaeology Ltd, on behalf of Stewart Milne Homes, on an area proposed for development at Dalry Road, Stewarton, East Ayrshire. The excavation concentrated in two trenches where several significant archaeological features were encountered during the evaluation. An area of 400m² (Tr74) and 1220m² (Tr59) was investigated in order to interprete and date these features. The work was undertaken between 5 and 14 April 2011. Five cobbled surfaces, two drystone walls and two stone field drains of recent date and undated possible pit were found. |
