Abstract:		 The excavation was carried out after a previous evaluation recovered significant archaeological remains, notably of the Roman period. This excavation recovered a notable sequence of Roman structural and occupation deposits relating to the development of Ilchster's northern suburb. Late Roman deposits appeared to have been truncated but evidence of medieval rubbish pits and post-medieval use of the site was present. [Au(abr)]
