Abstract:		 <summary>A geophysical survey of the area of the proposed quarry extension had indicated the presence of anomalies suggestive of ditches and pits. The area surveyed was stripped of topsoil under archaeological supervision. All the anomalies proved to be of a geological nature, however, a random scatter of pottery of prehistoric to post-medieval date and a number of flint artefacts were revealed.
