Abstract: |
The evaluation, carried out on land currently in use as a farm yard, was investigated by the digging of four trenches. The work indicates that little archaeology earlier than the 18th century exists within the development area, with the exception of some pits of possible medieval date. An absence of archaeological features was revealed in two trenches. Investigation of a ridge thought to represent the supposed northern section of Fleam Dyke (an Anglo-Saxon earthwork) produced secure dates of mid to late 18th century with total absence of earlier residual material. |
