Abstract: |
The evaluation consisted of six trenches located within the footprint of a proposed new school building. Trenches 1-5 were located to the west of the existing sports centre and Trench 6 was located to the east. A residual sherd of Roman pottery was retrieved from the topsoil in Trench 1. A small cut feature containing prehistoric and Saxon pottery was partially excavated in Trench 6. A 0.60m thick layer of redeposited sand sealed this feature and may represent an associated earthwork. |
