Abstract: |
AB Heritage was asked to undertake a Cultural Heritage Statement of Significance to provide an overview of historic character and potential significance on a Grade II listed building at No. 9 High Street (The White Lion Pub) in Market Harborough. This report identifies the key heritage planning constraints upon The White Lion pub, associated with the proposed redevelopment of the site. The White Lion pub was shown to originally date to the 18th century with alterations dating to later periods, 19th century onwards. The heritage significance of the site, due to the survival of early features, was deemed important as the overall character of the building would maintain the historic interest of the town. |
