Abstract: |
Ellerton Priory was a small Cistercian nunnery probably founded around 1200 and sited on the south bank of the River Swale in North Yorkshire. It is a scheduled Ancient Monument which is also described as including fishponds, water management system, mill, field systems and Ellerton medieval settlement. The National Park wanted to replace lost parkland trees on part of the scheduled Monument. A walkover and magnetometry survey was performed on sections of the Monument site which had not been previously geophysically surveyed. |
