Abstract: |
Stratascan were commissioned by Archaeological Project Services to undertake a geophysical survey of an area outlined for development as a pipeline. This survey forms part of an archaeological investigation prior to development. A detailed magnetometry survey carried out over four survey areas between Scott Willoughby and Osbournby has successfully located a number of geophysical anomalies. Positive anomalies indicating cut features were evident in areas 1 and 3. Discrete positive anomalies suggesting the presence of pits were evident in areas 2 and 3. Magnetic disturbance caused by modern activity is also in evidence across the survey areas. |
