Abstract:		 In response to a condition on the planning permission for a new housing development at 20 Hadham Road, Bishop's Stortford, Hertfordshire, The Heritage Network was commissioned by the developer to carry out an archaeological evaluation of the site. Two trial trenches were opened across the proposed development. Despite the site's location close to the core of the medieval market town, no artefacts or features predating the ninteenth century were recovered. The archaeological evaluation indicated that the site had been significantly disturbed in the late post-medieval period.
