Abstract: |
A desk-based assessment and site walkover of a known former quarry site in western Cumbria, in advance of a householder development. The project identified 19 gazetteer sites in the study area. It was possible to identify one of these as the former Glebe Sand Quarry which operated from about 1906 up until at least 1925. The quarry site was connected to the Cleator and Junction Railway, Harrington Branch via mineral lines. |
