Digital Object Identifiers

Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) are persistent identifiers which can be used to consistently and accurately reference digital objects and/or content. The DOIs provide a way for the ADS resources to be cited in a similar fashion to traditional scholarly materials. More information on DOIs at the ADS can be found on our help page.

Downloads

The dataset was recorded onto 2 linked database tables. The first describes the find spots (Finds details), while the second contains details of the coins included in each find (Coin details). These 2 tables are linked by the fields called 'Find No'. Bibliographic references and a list of coin issuers are stored as separate unrelated tables. The data should be used in association with the database documentation (below).

Comma delimited data files:

The database compiled during this project is available to download here as a series of comma delimited files ("" are used as text qualifiers). In all cases the first line of the data contains the field names. These files can be imported into a database or spreadsheet in order to work with the data.

Please note due to the special characters contained within the data, the first three of these tables have been encoded as UTF-8. You will need to specify this character encoding when importing this data into a database otherwise some characters may not render properly.
