Introduction

21 Hedgeside, Potten End, Hertfordshire. Archaeological observation, investigation and recording (OASIS ID: kdkarcha1-211679)

A programme of archaeological Observation, Investigation and Recording of 21 Hedgeside, Potten End, Hertfordshire was undertaken in August 2015 as a condition of planning permission for the development of the site. The footings and a new soakaway were excavated to the desired depth under archaeological supervision. However, no features or artefacts of archaeological interest were revealed despite the proximity of the site to Grim's Ditch, a prehistoric boundary, and a possible medieval kiln.
