Overview

Oxfordshire Historic Landscape Characterisation (HLC)

The Oxfordshire Historic Landscape Characterisation Project Archive contains a range of documents and digital files produced during the course of the project. They aim to show how the project developed and engaged with various stakeholders and the public, alongside the main project outputs. The files available for download will allow the Oxfordshire project to be consulted and interrogated by future users.

The archive contains:

  • Full and Summary Reports of the Oxfordshire HLC
  • Project Design and Updates
  • Stages 1 & 2 Completion Reports
  • Minutes from Stakeholder Group Meetings
  • Copies of two public presentations
  • Three iconic maps of Oxfordshire in the early 21st century, late 19th century, and late 18th century.
  • GIS Shapefiles for c.16,000 polygons identified in Oxfordshire and an associated attribute table. The attribute table gives a summary of the information held in the database.
  • Digital database containing information for each polygon.
  • Two case studies examining the capacity of the historic landscape for new woodland and large-scale urban development. The case studies include a report, operational guide, maps, and GIS shapefiles.
