Notes:Levelling deposit, probably-deposited to-build up the floor level in a room. There is a hearth at-the end of the neighbouring context to the north east. During the 2005 season, this context was extended to include the hearth. Strat below (4584). Cut by [3991], [5478], [1459]. Completely removed in 2005. Plan no: 21.184, 22.110 Sample no: 916, 917 Accuracy rating - 3
Composition: Firm, brown silty clay Inclusions: >70% stones (S-R) ranging in size from 6mm to 20cm; Patches of sandy clay Extent: 2.5m (SW-NE) x 1.4m (NW-SE); Thickness: 0.05m at the western end but variable in thickness and more shallow at the eastern end Slight ridge along central line of deposit and heat affected at the eastern end Diffuse - clear edge definition
