Usage

General Comments:

The city of Bath is largely built of products from the quarries at Combe Down and from those at Bathampton Down (Clifton-Taylor & Simmons 1987: 75). A hard and durable stone, it can show signs of fatigue after as little as 200 years, particularly in smoke laden atmospheres (Watson 1911: 176).

Known Usage: Biss Aqueduct, near Trowbridge, Wiltshire.
