General Colour Description:

A reddish brown coloured stone with lighter coloured limestone fragments.

Hand Specimen Description:

Extremely tough, coarse grained, poorly sorted breccia, comprising quartz pebbles, red marl and angular to subangular fragments of Carboniferous limestones welded into a calcareous, sandy matrix (Scard 1990: 80 - 81).
