General Colour Description:

A cream/buff to a warm yellowish brown colour with tiny black flecks. Permian limestones such as these frequently weather to dark grey.

Hand Specimen Description:

A medium grained, hard, granular, micaceous, dolomitic limestone. It is well sorted with a rough feel. Occasionally a few sparsely scattered angular grains of quartz can be detected usually with a hand lens (Howe 1910: 195).
