General Colour Description:

The bed varies in character, one section of the bed is a buff coloured stone with occasional large (up to 3mm in size) dark brown/black inclusions, the other is much finer and brown in colour (Watson 1911: 130).

Hand Specimen Description:

A medium grained, hard, granular, ferruginous sandstone which is moderately well sorted with a rough feel.
