Usage

General Comments:

Merstham stone is very porous and remarkable for its fire resisting qualities (Watson 1911: 195). The quarries produced fine ashlar and freestone for the principal buildings of the capital.

Known Usage: Old London Bridge: Ashlar/Facing Stone,
Eton College, Berkshire: Unspecified.
