General Colour Description:

This stone can be deep red, salmon coloured, purple or blue in colour. The colours are intermingled throughout the rock face and the blue weathers to a red colour in about 15 years or so depending on the exposure (Leary 1986 :61).

A medium grained sandstone which is hard, granular and well sorted.
