Hand Specimen Description: | A fine grained, hard, moderately well sorted, oolitic limestone with a rough feel. It is similar to Chilmark stone, but less glauconitic (and less green in colour) and does not have the distinct banding or laminations characteristic of Chilmark stone (Tatton-Brown 1998: 41). |
