Hand Specimen Description:

A hard, poorly sorted, medium grained oolitic limestone. This stone differs considerably in colour and texture from the ordinary Lincolnshire Limestones of the county, being darker in colour and more uneven in grain, than most of this group. (Watson 1911:171)
