General Colour Description:

Cream to buff grey with tiny dark spots of pale cream or buff iron oxide.

Hand Specimen Description:

A hard, fine grained, well sorted dolomitic limestone with tiny dark spots of iron oxide.

Petrographic Description:

The stone comprises dolomite crystals (average size 0.01mm) often twinned and of uniform size in addition to crystals that are rounded and aggregated into pelloidal structures. The latter may be oolites that have been replaced by dolomite. Occasional dark spots of iron oxide are also present. All of the above is set in a very fine grained crystalline matrix.
