Digital Object Identifiers

Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) are persistent identifiers which can be used to consistently and accurately reference digital objects and/or content. The DOIs provide a way for the ADS resources to be cited in a similar fashion to traditional scholarly materials. More information on DOIs at the ADS can be found on our help page.

Introduction

Front page of the original CBA report

This database consists of data for all the Upper Palaeolithic (Earlier and Later) sites with positional data in England and Wales derived from the Gazetteer of Mesolithic sites in England and Wales (Wymer and Bonsall, 1977), issued as Council for British Archaeology Research Report 20, along with a Gazetteer of Upper Palaeolithic sites. The database includes a list of mistakes (and corrections) noted while checking the gazetteer.

(Original Data Copyright © Council for British Archaeology and the authors (Wymer and Bonsall, 1977), with significant changes and corrections by Charles Whyte).

Users of this resource may also like to note that the database of Mesolithic data is also available as an ADS archive.
