Digital Object Identifiers

Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) are persistent identifiers which can be used to consistently and accurately reference digital objects and/or content. The DOIs provide a way for the ADS resources to be cited in a similar fashion to traditional scholarly materials. More information on DOIs at the ADS can be found on our help page.

Geophsics and GIS

This section of the digital archive is derived from the English Heritage funded 'Big Data' project; a programme for investigating preservation (storage methods), reuse (usability) and dissemination (delivery mechanism) strategies for exceptionally large data files. The data was used as a pilot to inform future strategies for dealing with such datasets, and as such is not complete and is not fully documented. However, where appropriate all the data is geo-rectified and could, for example, be of great interest to those undertaking future GIS based work in Staffordshire. The final outcomes of the Big Data project can be found in the project report.
